HM Studio Tip - I call this "Space Junk"

Studio Tip of the Day

When designing paper, photo and embellishment-intensive projects, be sure to remove all left over items from the pasteboard (the white space surrounding the live print area). Occasionally, projects with element-intensive pages and cluttered pasteboard areas do not print correctly. Removing left over design components from the pasteboard lowers overall file size and helps your product print more quickly and dependably.

Heritage Makers in Woman's Day Magazine!

HERITAGE MAKERS FEATURED IN WOMAN'S DAY MAGAZINE
Provo, Utah – March 23, 2011 – Heritage Makers, the leader in personal publishing for hardbound storybooks, was recently featured in the nationally acclaimed Woman's Day magazine. The article, written by financial guru Mary Hunt, praises the home-party network as a profitable business opportunity for women who wish to contribute to the family income without working outside of the home. Heritage Makers was one of three companies highlighted in the article. The magazine is now on newsstands.
"It's a special honor to be recognized as an industry leader by Woman's Day," states Justin Biggs, General Manager at Heritage Makers. "We know that consumers face many challenges in today's economy, so we feel especially pleased that our company is helping women to succeed--personally and financially. Our network of consultants across the United States and Canada is making a difference in the lives of families by helping them share the power of story. Earning a significant income every month is just an added bonus. Our consultants love what they do."
Amie Austin, a Heritage Makers consultant in Southern California, was chosen to represent the company for this article. "I love what I do!" says Amie, "Heritage Makers has empowered me to build a solid business, while still being able to take care of my growing family." She continues, "There's simply no other company around that offers a product and a business opportunity as unique and rewarding as Heritage Makers."
Heritage Makers has grown at a rapid pace since its founding in 2004 and is now the nation's leading storybooking company, offering a wide range of digitally-created and professionally-designed products including books, cards, scrapbook pages, canvas prints, and much more.

A Passion for Preservation

Here is a great story that was shared by a heritage maker in Seattle.  I could not say it any better myself:

A Passion for Preservation

If you or someone you know is in a similar predicament, contact me.  My high-speed Kodak photo scanning service is very popular and my clients are so thrilled and relieved to have their precious memories preserved, at an affordable price, and we all hope that we don't end up 'Strangers in a Box':

 THE STRANGERS IN THE BOX

Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen.
At the pictures, black and white
Faces proud, still and serene.

I wish I knew the people
These strangers in the box.
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among the socks.

I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.

If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what and when.
Those faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.

Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away?

Make time to save your pictures
Seize the opportunity when it knocks
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box!
