A Passion for Preservation

Here is a great story that was shared by a heritage maker in Seattle.  I could not say it any better myself:

A Passion for Preservation

If you or someone you know is in a similar predicament, contact me.  My high-speed Kodak photo scanning service is very popular and my clients are so thrilled and relieved to have their precious memories preserved, at an affordable price, and we all hope that we don't end up 'Strangers in a Box':

 THE STRANGERS IN THE BOX

Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen.
At the pictures, black and white
Faces proud, still and serene.

I wish I knew the people
These strangers in the box.
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among the socks.

I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.

If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what and when.
Those faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.

Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away?

Make time to save your pictures
Seize the opportunity when it knocks
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box!

Free Premier Weekend!

Heritage Makers ... FREE?

Heritage Makers is offering a free Premier weekend: October 14-17. Yes, I said FREE. This means you can start your publishing account, use ALL of the Premier Art (over 45,000 pieces and growing every month), and find out why I am so excited about this company. The company will also be offering some instructional webinars on Thursday & Friday nights, and a show and share opportunity on Saturday afternoon. And, I’m positive there will be special sales for everyone joining us that weekend!

So, you ask yourself, “How do I get ready for the Heritage Makers FREE Premier Weekend?”

First, make a gift list (whether birthday, wedding, Christmas … or that very special gift that you give yourself)

Second, gather pictures together (digital or hard copy). (p.s., if you have pictures you will need scanned before then, give me a call and we can arrange for that service; if you scan your own pictures, remember to scan them at the largest resolution as you can)

What kind of projects ...
Then think about the type of projects you might be interested in:

coffee table books (depending on the size, you will need 40-60 pictures)

a deck of playing cards (up to 55 pictures; the card deck picture and 52 cards + 2 jokers)

a family cookbook (gather recipes, pictures of family gatherings eating those recipes)

wall canvases (up to 5 or 6 pictures or 1 very special picture)

a family calendar (1-3 pictures per month)

and more!

Setting up your account

Third, set up your basic account in Heritage Makers: log into http://www.makeyourownstories.com/, set up your account, watch a few of the “online classes”, if you have time, check out the Heritage Makers channel on “youtube” and watch some of the company videos.

Fourth, tell your family that you will be busy the weekend of 10/14-17 working on some of your best gift ideas yet!

Enjoy, and let me know if I can answer any questions.
